Something Tells Me You're Worth the Weather...

The sunshine has been quite good to me as of late, so I've been spreading it across the country. Smiling and dancing with my thoughts as it pours in through the windows and fills my apartment with the warmth I've waited patiently for all winter. A new season is on the rise and with open arms I'm welcoming the ideas, adventures, and visitors that are to come. Fare thee well, winter. I survived you.

It's been a little over three years since I first posted the song below but it's crept back into my mind as good tunes tend to do.

I've been learning that believing and barely breaking even is just a part of life for you and me. I've been living with the lonliness it's got down in my bones I guess it's just another phase of being free. I've been learning how to lose a thing I never laid a hand on all along.

Happy weekend. Enjoy.

Oh I'm Sailing Away My Own, True Love..

I've been ambling about the city lights breathing deep and counting the stars. Seawall walks have quickly made their way into my daily routine. All an excuse to put in my headphones and watch the world around me.

The song below has been keeping me company as of late. Bob, you're melting my heart with each step.

If I had the stars of the darkest night and the diamonds from the deepest ocean, I'd forsake them all for your sweet kiss, for that's all I'm wishing to be owning.

ps: I'll have photos from my travels to Virginia and my Easter weekend adventures up for you soon.

We're Heading for You, Virginia...

I touched-down in the motherland yesterday afternoon, met up with my dear friends Emily and James in Ohio, and am hitting the road and heading to Virginia with James in just a few moments. I'm looking forward to a weekend of making music and playing shows with the awesome fellas above. Check out the Shows Page to find out where all we'll be playing in the Hampton Roads area.

The song below by my friends in Big Virginia Sky is one of my favorites.

See you soon, Virginia!

On the Radio...

I'm excited to say that I'll be on the radio this evening! That's right, I'll be a guest tonight on CJSF's Melodies in Mind at 8:00 pm Pacific Standard Time. For those of you not in the Vancouver region, fret not, you can listen in online at CJSF 90.1 FM. I'm looking forward to sharing a few new tunes.

I've posted the Regina Spektor song below before, but it feels appropriate yet again.

Hope you tune in.

Music Heals: Modo 8K

March is here and I have a slew of shows lined up this month starting with a radio appearance on CJSF 90.1 FM Melodies in Mind next Tuesday the 8th, a tour with James Adkins in Virginia the 9th-15th, and a show with the lovely Rowen and Kristina Lao at Skinny Fat Jacks on the 19th.

In addition to playing shows, this month I am teaming up with Music Heals to run the Modo 8k. Music Heals is a group of music enthusiasts, music lovers, and music therapists who have come together to help raise awareness of the healing powers of music. Music Heals supports a wide range of music therapy services to communities in British Columbia and across Canada.

For the Modo 8K, Music Heals has chosen to run and raise funds for the music therapy program at the Dr. Peter Centre, in Vancouver's West End. The only one of its kind in Canada, the Dr. Peter Centre is a leader in HIV care, particularly for individuals with multiple medical conditions and social barriers. I love the idea of running races to raise money and awareness for good causes. What I think is super awesome is that Music Heals will not be taking any admin fees off of donations, so 100% of the money raised will be donated! This cause is dear to me and I appreciate any and all the support given. Every little bit helps. Thanks a million :)

If you'd like to donate, please visit the pledge page.

My beautiful friend Lydia Hol is the one who introduced me to the wonderful folks at Music Heals. She recently released a new album that is simply spectacular.
