Heaven's a Julep on the Porch...

Hello again. These past few weeks have been a whirlwind and I’ve done a less than grand job of documenting anything. Nothing. That’s what I’ve documented. Nothing at all. Well, maybe a little. But only very little. I can’t help but laugh that my last post was titled I’m eager, young, and starry eyed, because these last few days (although extremely fun) have left me feeling more along the lines of someone who is tired, aged, and jumping at the opportunity to be alone and nap. But it’s a good feeling. It’s been one adventure after the next, balancing time with family, travels, and work. Because yes, I do work. Although I’ve had a remind myself of this these last few weeks.

And as I sit here on this ferry from Vancouver Island to the mainland with my thoughts drifting to a million other places than the work that I should be doing, I can’t help but think of a conversation I had at a bar last night in which a new friend reminded me so offhand and casually that nothing lasts forever so we must jump at the opportunities to travel, spend time with those we love, learn and master things that take us outside our comfort zones, and surround ourselves with those who inspire and draw us in. Life is too fleeting to live with our guards up, our eyes closed, and our doubts holding us back.

Go. Do. Play. Travel. Sing. Live. Love.

Florida is calling and I must go.

You weren't just a girl that I should meet. You were the girl that I would meet...

ps: I'll be playing with some musical peaches next week. Details here.
