A Tear Down Tuesday...

As I mentioned yesterday, this weekend I visited three forts. That's right, three. I'm not sure how it happened, but when Saturday evening rolled around my roommate and I realized that we had in fact been to three of Pensacola's historic Civil War forts; Fort Barrancas (there was a nifty candlelight tour full of fun facts and historical costumes), Fort George (you may recall my visit (here) to this awesome Palafox relic), and Fort San Bernardo.

Being surrounded by the heavily fortified walls of these massive garrisons made me stop to think of just how good I am at building up and hiding behind walls of comfort and mediocrity. It left me realizing that as creatures of habit, we enjoy the safety and routine of the walls we build up around us. Standing inside the tunnels of Fort Barrancas, it dawned on me that life is not meant to be lived behind walls. There's so much more than this. We are called to go beyond the walls. We are called to tear the walls down.

It was just so fitting that the always amazing Matt Mills sang the song below on Sunday morning. Just perfect.

And  I don't have to see it to believe it...

I hope you stayed dry on this ballet in the rain kind of day. Enjoy!
