Blue Weekend...

Hello, Friday! Two years ago I began a little campaign to celebrate all of the "Blue" places, things, and activities that I love about my city (here). Last year I expanded this to be a week long celebration and increased the geographic regime to include the entire southeast (here). This year I've decided that I am going to celebrate with an entire weekend of "Blue" events. Therefore, I am now officially declaring the start of this year's "Blue Weekend."

It is already a big weekend here in my lovely little city, so why not add in my own twist to the fun.

I was driving to New Yorker Deli for a bit of lunch earlier this afternoon when something in the air caught my eye. I looked up to see four airplanes spelling out "PENSACOLA AIR SHOW" in the clouds. I'll take that as a sign that it is going to be a great weekend.

This weekend I'm fortunate enough to:

...have this lovely lady and this charming fella in town.

...see these talented pilots take to the skies.

...run in Sunday's Pensacola Half Marathon. (We're so ready for this!)

It should be blue-filled next couple of days. Speaking of Blues, the photos above (sorry for the blurriness) are from last night's pre-air show reception at the National Museum of Naval Aviation. The family and I couldn't help but snag a few photos with the pilots. Such a fun time with the family.

Now without further delay, I thought a little Dark Blue by Jack's Mannequin would  be quite an appropriate start to the weekend.

Happy Veterans Day. Enjoy!
