Blue Day.... Blue Week..!

So this time last year, I was a happy resident of the great state of  Virginia living in the historic Lafayette neighborhood in Norfolk. Prior to packing up and saying goodbye to my beloved Pensacola, my best friend, Nicole, and I decided to implement a day dedicated to the city of my birth. We planned a day full of very Pensacola-esque activities and deemed it: Blue Day!

We awoke that May morning to the a Pensacola sunrise, ate blueberry muffins, listened to blues music, watched the Blue Angels practice at NAS Pensacola, ate lunch at the Blue Dot in the historic Belmont-DeVilliers neighborhood, and checked out the Blue Morning Gallery in downtown Pensacola. We donned blue dresses and bought Blue Angels posters which we then had signed by the Blue Angels pilots. It was a wonderful day, and an awesome farewell-for-now to the city that I love.

Well, I have once again returned to Florida, and this year we have decided to keep the tradition going! However, instead of Blue Day I have decided to officially declare it Blue Week! Blue Week is a celebration not only of everything Blue in Pensacola, but in the entire Southeast. Therefore, tomorrow we are heading up to a campsite along the Blue Ridge Parkway!

Once back in Pensacola, we will visit at least one "Blue" place (Dharma Blue, Blue Dot, Blue Morning Gallery, Five Sisters Blues Cafe, etc.) each day. To end the weekend we will attend the Blue Angels Air Show on Pensacola Beach.

I'm super excited! If anyone would like to join in on the celebration, just let me know. Blue Week is for all!

Also, to kick off Blue Week here is the song pick of the day; Sky Blue Sky by Wilco.

Enjoy!
